Meet the new heads of EPCA’s Supply Chain Committee
The European Petrochemical Association’s Supply Chain Program Committee (SCPC) is stepping into a new chapter with the appointment of Sanja C. Magdeburg (Brenntag) as its Chairperson and Samuel Alonso (LKW Walter) as Vice-Chairperson.
These dynamic leaders, both long-standing members of the SCPC, bring deep expertise and fresh perspectives to their new roles. Their tenure began on 11 December 2024 and will span three years.
Sanja C. Magdeburg and Samuel Alonso succeed Guy Bessant, who helmed the committee from 2021 to 2024. Under Bessant’s leadership, the SCPC advanced its mission to drive innovation and collaboration in the petrochemical and supply chain sectors.
As the SCPC continues to play a pivotal role in shaping sustainable and resilient supply chain strategies, we are excited to see how this leadership duo will steer the committee toward new heights.
Commenting on her appointment, Sanja said: “I am thrilled to be the Chairperson of the EPCA Supply Chain Program Committee (SCPC). As an industry network that consists of Logistic Service Providers, Producers, and Distributors of the chemical industry, our diversity is our greatest asset. We will leverage this powerful foundation to positively impact the supply chain activities and help foster competitiveness, sustainability and resilience.”
Samuel added: “I am truly honored to have been elected as Vice Chairperson of EPCA's SCPC and am deeply grateful for the trust and confidence placed in me. EPCA plays a critical role in driving innovation, sustainability and collaboration across the petrochemical industry. We have a great team and I look forward to contributing to its mission in this new capacity.”
Sanja and Samuel will be key in driving the future of the committee's work, building on the strong foundations set up by Guy, and driving a renewed direction focusing on the sustainability, competitiveness and efficiency of supply chains in the petrochemical industry.
The SCPC’s aim is to promote openness and transparency in the supply chain, while always ensuring strict compliance with competition laws. Its primary focus is on addressing the sector’s sustainability requirements and promoting the shift towards a more circular supply chain. Read more on the SCPC's activities on the SCPC webpage.
