Rubis Terminal

Rubis Terminal, a leading European independent company for storing petroleum products, chemicals, agro products and fertilizers.

Rubis Terminal is a subsidiary of the RUBIS group, one of the leading European companies specialized in distributing petroleum products (fuel, LPG, etc.) and storing liquid products (petroleum products, chemicals, agro products, fertilizers).

Founded in 1877, Rubis Terminal, formerly the Compagnie Parisienne des Asphaltes (CPA), totalized in 1992 over a million cubic metres of storage capacity in Rouen and Dunkirk, whose seafront location and connections to the main French pipelines offer major strategic assets for a development in oil products and chemicals on the French market.

Between 1995 and 2002, the group acquired almost one more million cubic metres in France, by taking over more strategic terminals (Brest, Saint-Priest, Strasbourg Pétrole) and the Propetrol Company (Villeneuve-la-Garenne, Salaise-Sur-Sanne, Village-Neuf, Strasbourg Chimie) bringing the total storage capacity to around two million.
In twenty years time, Rubis Terminal managed to become the number one independent operator in France and the fifth in Europe.

In addition, since 2007, Rubis Terminal has expanded in Europe, first by building one new terminal in Rotterdam, Europe’s busiest port, and the third busiest in the world, and then in Antwerp, the second busiest port in Europe, in partnership with the Japanese group Mitsui.

Between 2012 and 2014, those two terminals will increase their storage capacities to respond to growing market demand.
In the meantime, Rubis Terminal capacity grows to 2.6 million cubic metre storage capacity which it owes to both organic growth and purchases of terminals in France and in Europe.
