Beware of Hotel and Attendee-list Scams

It has come to our attention that scammers are targeting our meeting attendees and attempting to sell attendee lists and/or solicit room bookings. EPCA does not rent or sell lists to third-parties, nor is a third-party authorized to distribute or sell any lists related to our events!
Please be aware of any message coming from sources not affiliated with EPCA. Statements claiming to offer our attendee lists are fraudulent. If you receive emails that propose to sell EPCA attendee lists, do not engage with the sender and delete the message immediately and report the caller/sender to the competent authorities.

Attendee List / Hotel Booking Scam
Unfortunately, our event is the target of attendee list sales/hotel scams. Scammers call or email attendees/members claiming to represent EPCA or be an official vendor, and encourage our customers to book rooms using fake promotion codes or offer to sell attendee lists. These emails are sent by scammers!

Valid emails come from @epca.eu
- Remember: EPCA does not rent or sell your email address to third parties.
- Remember: Do not click on any links that looks suspicious.

Please do not engage with and/or acquire/purchase any list from any company claiming to have use of the EPCA database, attendees, or contact information as it puts you and others' contact information at risk. Oftentimes, responding to these emails (even to “unsubscribe”) confirms to them that they have reached a valid email address.

We encourage you instead to block the sender, delete the email and report scammers to the competent authorities (fraud division).

Why is there German VAT (19%) on registration fees?

According to articles 53 and 54 of the European VAT Directive 2006/112/EC of 28 November 2006 the place of supply of services in respect of admission to a.o. scientific, educational or similar events, shall be the place where those events actually take place. Consequently, local VAT must be charged on the admission fees to such events. In this respect German VAT is levied on the admission fee to our 56th Annual Meeting in Berlin, Germany.
Insofar as and to the extent that you are entitled to deduct VAT in your own country, the German VAT can be reclaimed.
As from the 1st of January 2011 European taxable persons must reclaim foreign VAT electronically (via an electronic refund portal) in their own member state (EU Directive 2008/9/EC from 12 February 2008).

How can I see who is participating?

The attendance list* is now available on the member companies area “My EPCA” for registered participants! Simply login in using your username and password then click ‘My Meetings’ then click ‘Download Attendance List’

*Please note for the list of participants, details are only shown for those attendees having enabled the option during the registration process.

EPCA’s No badge No Entry policy - Public Areas

People who have not registered and therefore cannot present a valid event badge, can still access the public areas of the participating hotels like lobby, restaurant or bar, but will not be accepted in any area EPCA or its member companies use for meetings.

For member company events taking place in the five EPCA partner hotels, the “No Badge No Access” policy is enforced:

-1- Hotel InterContinental Berlin – Headquarter Hotel where most activities take place including EPCA sessions, Meeting Tables, Business Incubator Pods and an EPCA Lounge.

-2- Hotel Pullman Berlin Schweizerhof – is facing InterContinental Berlin and has an official EPCA Lounge. The activities taking place in the hotel meeting rooms* are organized by member companies, for which many are by invitation only.

-3- Hotel Crowne Plaza Berlin City Centre – is ±5 minutes walk from InterContinental Berlin. The activities taking place in the hotel meeting rooms* are organized by member companies, for which many are by invitation only.

-4- Hotel Berlin Palace – is ±7 minutes walk from InterContinental Berlin. The activities taking place in the hotel meeting rooms* are organized by member companies, for which many are by invitation only.

-5- Hotel Berlin, Berlin – is ±9 minutes walk from InterContinental Berlin. The activities taking place in the hotel meeting rooms* are organized by member companies, for which many are by invitation only.

*The list of all allocated meeting rooms will be available to consult on-site at the EPCA Information desks in the hotels for those companies having allowed #EPCA56 to share the information.

EPCA session attendance - limited seats

We kindly ask you to log in to your bizzabo profile and select the session(s) you would like to attend in person by clicking on the seat sign (see picture below) next to the session details on the agenda. Note: this is only visible to participants logged into Bizzabo.

Sessions on-demand

Go to the Agenda Page, select a session you want to watch and click the 'Watch Broadcast' button under the session title. Note: You are required to ‘Login’ with the email address used to register for the event. Once you click ‘Login’ a new page will open asking for the email address used to register the event.

Presentations

If the speaker allowed to publish their presentation you will find the PDF under the attachments section of the session.

Go to the Agenda Page, select a session you want to get the presentation from. Note: You are required to ‘Login’ with the email address used to register for the event. Once you click ‘Login’ a new page will open asking for the email address used to register the event. Then scroll until the end of the page to download the presentation(s).

Badge collection

#EPCA56 has live badge printing with check-in delegates in assisted mode
