Mark L. Williams is the Vice President of SABIC in Europe
Mark Graduated in Chemical Engineering from the University of Sheffield in 1989 and has a career spanning 26 years in the Petrochemicals and Polymers industry working across Europe, USA and the Middle East.
The focus of his current role is creating a sustainable and competitive environment for the European Petrochemicals Industry and the development of talent to achieve this.
Mark has extensive manufacturing experience and has previously been responsible for SABIC’s Manufacturing and Strategic planning in Europe focused on transforming the competitive performance in safety, reliability, productivity and cost to achieve best quartile performance.
Mark has been responsible for the leadership of Petrochemical and Cracker complexes across Europe and in Texas.
His achievements have included the safe and successful start-up of the World’s largest Low Density Polyethylene plant, Prestigious CIA (UK) Company of the year award for excellence in manufacturing and innovative low emission Cracker shut down and start-up techniques.
Mark serves on the boards of the CIA, CEFIC and Plastics Europe and is a graduate of the London Business School General Management Development Program. He was previously on the board of the UK National Skills Academy for the Process Industry (NSAPI). He is married to Maureen and they have 2 teenage boys.
