Timo Spaninks, a dynamic leader in the energy industry, blending technical expertise with a keen business acumen.

Currently serving as the Business Unit President for Vopak Belgium, Timo leads a thriving community of 350+ employees and spearheads the transformation of a former refinery site into the innovative Vopak (New) Energy Park Antwerp. His commitment extends to the Vopak Strategic Committee.

Timo's journey includes a significant role as the Managing Director of Vopak Oil Netherlands, where he successfully led a team of 300 employees, implementing a future-proof asset transition strategy and actively participating on the boards of several joint ventures.

Prior to this, Timo showcased his skills as the Business Development Manager at Pernis Refinery, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the medium to long-term Cash Delivery Strategy for Shell's downstream business. Notably, he contributed as a member of Shell Netherlands' Energy Transition team.

His international experience spans Qatar, where he served as the Production Unit Manager for Gas Processing & Offshore at Pearl GTL. Timo was responsible for overseeing safe and reliable operations, leading a dedicated team of 130 operations staff and 200+ contractors. His impactful leadership earned him the role of Deputy Operations Manager for the entire Pearl GTL facility, comprising over 800 staff.

Timo's journey also includes roles such as Deputy Production Unit Manager for Crude Distillation at Pernis, focusing on continuous improvement and acting as a pivotal part of the production unit scorecard. His earlier roles in engineering and supply chain management, including being a Middle Distillates Supply Chain optimizer for Western Europe, further showcase his versatility.
