Xavier Cros holds a degree in Industrial Engineering from Universitat Politechnica Catalunya – Barcelona, complemented by an MBA (Universidad Pompeu Fabra – Barcelona).

His career began in the textile industry, then moved into the automotive industry, before starting at BP Chemicals in 2001 (becoming INEOS by 2005).
He held various positions in sales, business and R&D management, before moving into the Board of Directors of INEOS Technologies in 2015. In 2021 Xavi was appointed CEO of Ineos Olefins and Polymers South accountable for the Ineos Lavera site in the south of France, as well as the Sarralbe site in France and the Rosignano site in Italy. He led the M&A project that finalised in the full acquisition of the Lavera site by INEOS in 2024. Xavi has recently been appointed as Ineos External Affairs Director, based in Rolle, Switzerland.
