The Talent and Leadership Committee (formally known as the Talents of Today, Leaders of Tomorrow or TTLT). The TLC is made up of representatives from EPCA member companies with diverse and multicultural backgrounds in terms of age, gender, function, education and career - reflecting the needs of the industry. Its primary objective is to ensure that the petrochemical industry attracts and retains the best talent necessary to ensure a smart, resilient, sustainable and inclusive world.
The TLC operates through two thematic subgroups:
- Subgroup 1 focuses on Leadership and ESG benchmarking - equipping EPCA members with the knowledge and tools to guide them through the evolving demands of ESG reporting, with a strong emphasis on leadership, diversity and inclusion.
- Subgroup 2 focuses on ways to improve talent attraction and retention.
Its current goal is to focus on the negative perceptions and declining STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) enrolment which is creating a talent shortage in the Petrochemical industry. The subgroup aims to establish initiatives inspiring young people for STEM education and careers, ultimately cultivating a diverse and skilled workforce.
